For Teachers

The Alabama Learning Exchange now offers a lesson plan for teachers who wish to use The Stupendous Dodgeball Fiasco in the classroom. The lesson was designed by Christina Norman of the McElwain Elementary School -Magnet. According to an overview of the plan, one chapter of Stupendous Dodgeball Fiasco is read each day to the students, after which the students discuss how that day's chapter relates to their lives. At the conclusion of the book, the students create short stories addressing what it is that they would like to change about their school and how they could go about changing it. This fun lesson plan even includes getting the class together to play a real game of dodgeball! My thanks (and admiration) go out to Christina for developing such a wonderful and creative way to make use of the principles of my book. You can go to the ALEX web site for a free download of the lesson plan.
